Why Hello D-Land,
It's been so long. It's just occured to me how many little milestones happened this past week. I wanted to just babble them out and what better place to do that then here.
First off, I hit the one month mark at my new job. In March, I was let go from the workplace I'd been at for 6 1/2 years due to outsourcing. In April, I started at my new job. All in all, it's a fairly perfect fit. I get to be social. I get to learn new things. I get to organize and talk hair color constantly. The ladies I work with are hilarious. My boss is accommodating and kind. I don't work opening shifts so I'm not forced to get up early. It only takes 10 minutes to get there! I get a 20% discount. I mean, come on! Super fun. It pays half what I was making but I am 1000x happier.
Second, I have been a licensed official baker with her own bakery for 3 weeks. And guess what! I'm making money! It's pretty awesome to be able to do something you love and have it be appreciated on a different scale. It's a dream come true to be honest and I'm loving it. My bakery is on Etsy which is just so much fun to me. (GoodiesByErikaB)
Third, I haven't had a drink in one year. A whole year. TimeHop showed me that the other day. It's insane. It started as just a test, to see how my body would feel and then I just decided enough was enough. I mean, I drank enough in my 20's for 10 people. I can't believe it's been a year.
When Nana passed, that was the first time I felt like I could use a drink. Watching Dad unravel was taking its toll on me and I didn't know how to deal with it. But! I reached out to my lovely LMWL family and all was well.
This year has been full of amazing and wonderful changes. I feel like my life is on a path to greatness and I love that feeling.
There are more things to work on and to get better at but I am so pumped for them.
It's just so good!
