This has been such an amazing vacation. I needed a break from life. From everything. I needed to just be. And that's exactly how its been thus far.
I drove from Maine to South Carolina. I stopped in Virginia for a nap at a lovely Comfort Inn with a very mind and understanding staff.
I was only stopped in traffic once in North Carolina.
I hung out with Andrea, she's a tropical storm that just seemed to be joining me. she was pretty cool though. The only place that seemed to be difficult was Maryland when the water was about 2 feet high on the highway.
I stopped a few places on the way to stretch, one of which was this giant outlet that was fannnnnntastic.
I got to South Carolina Friday night. Checked in and instantly loved this hotel. Hampton Inn. Lovely place. The chain is added to my approved hotels. (Red Roof has been my go to forever)
Friday was spent unpacking, Miss Brandi and Savannah came to visit and brought me dinner, and then I curled up with Netflix and passed out.
Saturday really started my vacation. I woke up around 9, took a shower, got dressed and busted out for breakfast.
I'm a huge huge huge breakfast person and one of the draws to this particular hotel, aside from its awesome location, was complimentary breakfast.
the choices change everyday which makes me soooooo happy.
day one I ate breakfast in a cushy leather chair, day two out on the patio, day three I slept through breakfast so I enjoyed it in my room , and day four at a tiny little table in a gorgeous little room.
Saturday I went to the beach with Brandi & her boyfriends family. Got myself covered in sand, enjoyed the sunshine, and relaxed. Really relaxed.
Savannah was adorable and is just the cutest little thing.
My evening was spent wandering the area I'm in, Broadway at the Beach.
Sunday was a me day. I worked out, laid out by the pool, read my book, finished out The L Word (BTW What the fuck kind of ending was that!?), tried to sleep.
Monday I FINALLY went to the Boulevard.
I've been to Myrtle Beach I believe 5 times. Brandi moved here when I was 19 and I come to visit. Of all the time I've been here, I'd never actually gone to the boulevard and walked it.
It was the first thing I did when I went to Virginia Beach. I love wandering the beach stores at home in OOB but I'd just never done it in MB.
So yesterday! that's what I did. annnnd I went to the Ripley's Oddity Museum which was awesome. Dinner was at Planet Hollywood with miss B. THEY HAVE A NINJA TURTLE THERE!! So cool.
I don't know. Its just been exactly what I needed.
I needed sleep and no stress. I needed to be removed from everything.
I've watched a whole mess of Netflix.
I'm almost through my book, which is fantastic, The Day I Ate Whatever I wanted, look it up, it's great.
I've worked on my tan.
Eaten some delicious food.
Shopped.
It's just...well, lovely.
the best part...I still have 6 more days :)
